FEED MY SHEEP

Caring for those in need beyond our doors is not an option for those who follow Jesus. St. John’s feeding ministry, Feed My Sheep has made and distributed more than 10,000 bagged meals to the hungry in Baltimore since 2008.

Every Monday before the second Tuesday of the month, volunteers of all ages and abilities meet in the Terrace Grille at Springwell Senior Living to make sandwiches which go into a brown bag with snack chips and a baked good. (We get lots of help from our local Daisy Troop with this fun project!) The meals are then distributed by the Salvation Army on the Feedmore Van which serves the hungry 7 nights a week. Volunteers from St. John’s also ride on the van every Tuesday to hand out meals.

To join in this ministry, contact us to sign up to ride on the van. Anyone can help make sandwiches, just come on over! Upcoming dates for sandwich-making are listed in current events.

  • Delivering the bagged meals to the Salvation Army facility in Hampden.
  • Staffing the van from 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday evening. This involves riding in the van and distributing meals at various stops along its route. Volunteers are picked up and dropped off at the Salvation Army facility in Hampden
